Brand New Crack: Where Time Stood Still by Slider
This is a disc version of the 128K-only game called Where Time Stood Still.
Brand New Crack: APB by Silder
It's been a while since there have been any news, so here's a relatively new release by Slider to cover it up.
47 Bytes For Color by Goblinish
Geez, now it appears that I've spotted another <128K intro from Outline 2012 a bit too late. So here's a quick post to fix it: a 64 byte intro by Goblinish which placed third on the compo. Get it here.
Rest In Peace, Mike Singleton
This month, the fans of Spectrum have lost a couple of guys who meant a lot for this little but pretty quirky machine. Last week, Yuriy Rodionov has died. Today, Mike Singleton, who was christened as the father of computer gaming by many people, got his life ended while he was struggling with cancer.
For a recap, Singleton wrote such masterpieces of ZX Spectrum such as Lords of the Midnight, Doomdark's Revenge, Dark Sceptre and War in Middle Earth. These games, while being groundbreaking for their time, are also notable for their depth and incredibly huge in-game worlds that were previously thought to be impossible to fit into such a small RAM of ZX Spectrum.
May you rest in peace, Michael.
Star Heritage Is Now In English!
Well, not quite, considering it's only a demo version that got the translation so far. Still, it's complete and it's working, so download the TRD image here to try it out. It should perfectly work in Spectaculator, FUSE or UnrealSpeccy.
Star Heritage was developed by STEP Creative Group in 1995 and was probably one of the first hit games of the Russian Spectrum homebrew scene. It's a gfx+text adventure which, however, incorporates a pure menu-based interface, alongside combats, day and night simulation and, somewhat obviously, exciting storyline. Several years later, it was remade for GameBoy Color and PC (with the latter being a licensed remake).
Brand New Crack: Italia ’90 – World Cup Soccer by Slider
Another game that was available only as a tape image gets a disk version, so download it here.
Brand New Crack: Peter Shilton’s Handball Maradonna by Slider
Yet another sports game is now finally available for Beta128 machines, thanks to Slider. Go get it!
Brand New Crack: Armalyte Demo by Slider
This is a disked demo version of a puzzle game called Armalyte, which includes only one level to beat, but despite it was never released, Slider decided to port this unfinished game to TR-DOS for historical purposes. Get it here.
IRIS Ultrademo Rebuilt By drbars
The original IRIS Ultrademo was shown on Enlight '97 outside the compo and in fact was glitchy as hell. A lot later, drbars decided to rebuild it from the source code available on Open Source ZX, so now it has smaller size and more adequate data loading for every part. If you're still unfamiliar with IRIS, I've gotta tell you that there's a lot of parts here, so be extremely patient while watching this. :)
Tape version coming up!
Brand New Crack: Maritrini feat. Fratellis by Slider
Finally, the prequel to Maritrini's adventures is available in TR-DOS disk format! Download it here.
Brand New Crack: Elite SuperTrux by Slider
Slider, the former member of SG-Team, has released a new crack of a really old game, complete with the new intro by Jerri and audiovisuals by nix./site.
